Single line Manhole & Pipes. in profile view

I remember seeing an article or web cast on how to create a style to display a single line for a manhole. It may have been about using the parts create tool. But for the life of me, I can’t remember where I saw it.
    Any ideas.

Also I had created a style in C3D2007 to display the pipes in profile as a single line. This was done by drawing the flow arrow in a non printable colour over the top of the pipe.
In C3D2008 this is no longer possible. So now what?

Thanks in advance for any help. Message was edited by: Mal

1- Make a block that is just a single line with insertion point at rim. length is irrelevant. Set your style to "fixed scale from part size" in profile. should work.

2- do you want to show the centerline? i _think_ you can turn off all of the elements except the centerline? but i dont have the program open and i am feeling dumb that i can't picture that style creation dialog.

    hey,
we are looking for a way to do the single line representation for manhole and pipes as well. so thanks for the manhole tip, will try it out.
what about the pipe? we got it to display just the centreline of the pipe by changing the diameter of the outer wall and inner wall to zero in the pipe style properties box. (dont know if that is the crude way or not) unfortunately we draw our pipes with the lines representing the invert of the pipe. Does anyone know how to make the single line represent the invert and not the centreline??

    any input is appreciated. thanks.

I don't know if this was ever resolved.  I found a work around for this:

Created a label style with the flow direction turned on, insertion set to inside diameter, and display arrow turned off.  Seems to work, and should be dynamic .
