Hello everybody, i have a question about exporting a 2d drawing to a Shapefile. I have checked out the Help file supplied with AutoCAD Civil #D 2013, but for the life of me I can not figure it out. Would anybody be able to help me?

    Hi,

command is _MAPEXPORT (>>>details<<<) .... and then let us know, if something does not work in the way you need.

Be aware, that you won't export an entire drawing to shape format, sir.

Depending on objects you choose, the _MAPEXPORT will filter either:

    1. points
    2. lines
    3. polygons
    4. texts

so you'll get up to 4 different shapesets.

Depends on what is all in the dwg, using mulitclass shape it will export most AutoCAD objects and create mulitlpe files.

Assuming you are talking about GIS applications mapexport works fine. Be sure to set your drawing to a coordinate system, and that you are on one.

If you are speaking of other applications, such as for linetypes, please use the express tools->tools->make shape
