    Rotate Points!

My field crew assumed a coordinate system and surveyed a job. I need to rotate the points in my dwg to match another survey. I have not found a rotate points command. Other LDT type commands have been replaced by standard ACAD commands by adding the transparent commands to them. I tried to use the ACAD rotate command and the transparent commands to rotate my points, but there is no transparent command to find multiple points. I need to select the points by point number range if possible. Any ideas?

    Nick -

Try creating a point group by range of numbers, then "isolating" that
point group and rotating it using the ACAD Rotate command. Might want
to draw some lines representing the rotation so that you can isolate
    them as well.

Yes that's what I did after I posted, except I used selectsimilar (my favorite command) instead of isolating the group, almost forgot about that one!
Though I was hoping you'd say, the point number range option is **right here** dude!!!

What are the difference between survey points and points. I imagine they are
linked together. But I need to rotate all the points to align with another
coorinate system. I try using the rotate, move, align and all that happens
usually is the individual points rotate to an angle but the whole set of
    points will not rotate.

Using OE, I only see your last two posts. Have you set "allow points to be
modified" to TRUE in the UPDATE Points in points settings.

Survey points are points that are inserted into your drawing from the
survey database. As such, they CANNOT be rotated, translated, moved,
etc. using the normal AutoCAD commands. These points MUST be adjusted
through the survey database, or using the survey extension provided on
    the Civil Community website.

Points are points. They are what you get when you create points from
the Points menu, or when you import points from a CSV or text file.
They can be moved, rotated, translated, etc. with the standard AutoCAD
    commands.

The easiest way to determine survey points from regular Civil 3D points
is to click on one - if a grip shows up on the point marker, it can be
edited, and is a civil 3d point. No grip means it's a survey point.
The properties box also reports which is which.

So your saying that if I import my points from a .txt file I am not ablt to rotate or modify the location of the points? And that you can only rotate points that you have created in AutoCAD?

I am having to go back to LDD2004 to rotate my points, when I find that I need to roate them to a recorded Plat information. I really am not a fan of having to do that but until I can find a better way thats how I need to do it, I have tried searching for an update point tab or check box or setting with no luck. Not sure why they wouldn't wnat you to be able to modify point locations in such a mannor.

    Thanks

If you imported the survey points using an import event in the survey database you can right click on the survey database and transform the database.

Points imported from text files directly into your drawing are editable using the generic editing commands (move, rotate, etc.). Points inserted from a survey database must be manipulated with the survey tools since they need to maintain synchronization with the database.
