We have Autocad C3D2012 64 bit and Microsoft Excel 2010. I have never had a problem with copying a spreadsheet to the clipboard and pasting special as autocad entities with previous versions until 2012. It has to be a setting in autocad somewhere but I can't figure it out. When I paste special. the text comes in at color 0,0,0 instead of by layer or index color 7 (white). If I have a black screen 0,0,0 cannot be seen. One of my coworkers tried my spreadsheet on his computer and it comes in color 7. What can I do to fix this?  Thanks!

At home I've neither Autocad nor Excel, so I cannot try it, but.. what happens if you set as "Automatic" the table color in Excel, before copying?

I gave that a try and it is still the same. Color 0,0,0 Thanks for trying!

try pasting the text into a mtext object.
