PNEZD file import issue.

Hello,
New to Civil3D 2012, so please bear with me.
I have a point file with <null> elevations. Somehow it won't let me import this .txt file (using pnezd comma delimited) into my .dwg. If I have elevations I have no problems. We tried creating a pned (comma delimited) and the <null> having an unused column and it didn't work.
Ideas? Thanks in advance.

You are trying to import a .txt file in a .csv format (the PNEZD (comma delimited) is for .csv files)
Use the PNEZD (space delimited) to import a .txt file.
If that returns an error, edit the .txt file elevations, change <null> to 0. Then try again.

We usually just change the invalid indicator in the pnezd file format Elevation tab to <Null> and it works fine.

I suppose that could work, but I'm hesitant to go in and start messing with AutoCADs native formats like that. Reason being, if your process changes in the future, and you use a different file type, that tool might not work anymore unless you remember to reset it to normal.
Much easier just to run a Find & Replace on a .txt or a .csv file instead, imho.

Just for the record, I have been using PNEZD comma delimited TXT files for over 20 years with no problem. It shows examples right on the screen when you import them. At least for the last 2 or 3 versions.

Thanks to all for the responses.
When trying to select the pnezd comma delimited format on civil 3d it tells me the .txt file does not support this format. So I wonder if there is some setting unchecked somewhere. We used to do it all the time in Land Desktop with no issues.
Thanks.

Make sure it is a REAL txt file. Open in Notepad and save in Notepad. Also check for any lines of text before the first line of the PNEZD text.
Try the attached file.

If you could post the file or a small portion of it showing the Null elevation. It would help us diagnose the problem.

I also attached why I see when trying to import points. Note that the pnezd comma delimited option does not show and when I try to add it, it tells me it is an invalid format.
Thanks.
