Node osnap not recognizing certain point marker styles

Is there a reason why the "node" osnap won't recognoze certain point markers?  I have recently begun using named plot styles and I have been revising some of our markers to reflect this.  I have noticed that some of the point markers (it seems like markers that use a circle as part of the marker) won't show the node marker no matter how I hover around it.  Others seem to be normal.   Thanks for any help.

Which release of Civil 3D are you using? I've been told that 2013 will node snap to all markers and previous version don't.

When this happens, insert the block used in the points style, go into block editor by selecting the block and right-clicking. Then go through and recreate things a little, I have had it happen on my point styles as well.

Welcome to the world of custom ARX objects. I wonder how much time has been wasted by users trying to figure out how to snap to geometry of C3D objects.

A lot. I still want to know why I can get an endpoint or nearest osnap on a profile but not a perpendicular or intersection.

Forgive my ignorance.  When you say time wasted is it wasted because people don't know the right way to fix it, or is it wasted because people spend time trying to fix something that might no be fixable?

I am currently using 12.  I tried the markers out in 13 and Allen seems to be right.  They worked like a champ there.  I guess it's time to reluctantly move up.

    Thank you all.

That might not be reason enough. At least not till the first SP, There's always the 'PN or 'PO transparent command to "snap" to a point.

I didn't think about 'PO.  That's much better than moving up.  Thanks again!
