Can anyone tell me why when I try to edit mtext the editor opens but I
cannot see the text. I have to zoom in\out before I can see the text so I
can edit it.

Brian,
I'll assume you are using Windows XP. Right click on your desktop and
select Properties, go to the Appearance tab and select the Effects... button
and uncheck the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:
box.

I am using Windows 2000 and this was unchecked. I checked the box and it
had no effect, still the same problem. It is a real pain to find my text
everytime I want to edit it.

Brian,
I know that if you have a layer or object colored 255,255,255 and you are
using a white background (in options -> display tab), the object will not
show on the screen, as it's the same color. However, if you use the object
color "White" instead, it will invert it to black when a white dwg
background is used.
Maybe that's your answer, I don't know!
