Using C3d 2013.
Where do I find the PI data of an alignment object to plug into a mtext Field?
Field Category and Field Name and any other steps to locating it would be helpful.
Thanks,
Adam

I don't see where you can get that in to an MText field. I always use a Civil 3D label as shown here:

Thanks, but I am trying to generate a label that pulls data from multiple objects (an alignment, a pipe network part and the PI). For example:
PROP. 6' DIA. MH S-1
STA. = 13+23.53
Δ = LT 12°25' 15"
Where 6', MH, S-1, 13+23.53, LT and 12°25' 15" are 6 individual fields. I figured out most of them, but am having trouble with the deflection angle components.
I posted another question on where to find it under the pipe network part label reference text because that would be just as useful (no response to it yet). Due to the ease of working with mtext and annotative text, I was hoping to find a solution to both methods.
Thanks,
Adam

C3d does not support fields. Allen is correct to use c3d labels. You can add reference text in a label style to pull from other objects

Alright, then please tell me where to find the PI's Deflection Angle in the pipe network part's label Text Component Editor. I don't see it as one of the options under any of the Reference Text types.

I looked close r and see you trouble: reference alignment parameters do not include the delta. you may have to use a seperate alignment label to include these values in plan

So what seems should be a simple reference text to a label turns out to be an impossible task for C3D? I will have to mess with double the labels then? Or is there a way to append a label to another label?
Everyday, I find a new reason to hate AutoDesk. Can't wait for ESRI GIS to catch up on the drafting tools.
Thanks for your time Joe.

Now before go off hating c3d - I'm not be be all and end all to what can be done with styles, Unfortunately no one else chimed in.
Since I have your ear and you revealed you lean toward the GIS side. could you explaing to me how to create a multiling label usning the planning and analysis work space?
I used the dialog to add label thinking I only had to add a label for each property but only one property shows?

Sorry to have misled you. My knowledge of GIS is more limited than my C3D knowledge. I just know the data management tools are a lot more useful, comparing and manipulating data is freely done across any of the data (where C3D restricts it) and the ArcMap program in general has a lot less bugs than C3D. But the GIS Manager at our office may know. I'll pick his brain and get back to you.
Our primary client requires drawings in AutoCAD format. But I think we could convert them if the drawing capabilities were there. If that were the case, then I might be better suited to answer your question.
I only hate AutoDesk because they repeatedly put out well below standard quality products that continue to crash or freeze or don't function as described in their documentation. I wish they would just take a year or two and work out all the issues and limitations with their current product instead of adding new features. Then I could see paying that absurd subscription cost. Sorry, I rant sometimes.

How do I move the later portion of this post to the other post that identifies the label aspects? I want this one to go back to the original question posed regarding MTEXT and how to make these notes with fields.
