Importing MX Highway design to Civil 3D

Hi, I'm having some problems using some existing MX highway design data I've brought into Civil3D using the genio import extension. Basically I can bring in all the alignments that I want to be able to use but am unsure where to go next in terms of creating a proposed profile line. My goal is to be able to pull out long sections and cross sections based on this data. Ideally I'd like to avoid doubling up on work in MX and Civil3D as much as possible, so wondered if anyone knew the best way to go about this?

Depends on what information you have in the file

If you just want to create sections from the data you need the strings and the geometry as this is only what MX stores.

If you dont have surfaces, you can of course create them yourself.

Personally keep the data in one file and datashortcut the data out and draw the sections in seperate drawings.

So if the data changes you can simply delete the data in the file, import and hit save.

    All your sections will update.

I have three short videos on my youtube channel that might help you.

Thanks Jack the videos are very helpful, think I was just getting confused with the profiles the MX was bringing in.

    Cheers
