I've got one time in my Lab for one more Style discussion. I'm currently
talking about Point Label w/ Block, a surface style, and a Parcel Line Label
with Child. What would you want to see discussed? Parcel Area Table?
Vertical Curve Labeling? Alignment Stationing? Station Offsets?
Hurry, I'm on a deadline, but thanks for your input!

James,
My preference would be Vertical Curve labelling.
Thanks for asking.

Well with all the different alignment labeling we do, I would vote for
alignments.
Some of our labeling may need to be prefixed (or suffixed) with CL, FL, L,
R, etc. Symbology is also different depending on the client - full tick,
half tick, dots, etc. It would be cool to utilize a library of alignment
styles.
But then again - horizontal station offset w/profile elevation(?) would be
good.
You just can't lose James, it's all going to be good info.
Is this for Wednesday's 3:00-4:30 lab?
If so, see you there.

I wound up going with a Station Offset label based on a few other inputs. I
think I'll ask for four hours next year, 90 minutes is just not enough to
really get into styles like I would want to.

Just to further elaborate on your post:
Alignments and their labels are detached to some extent. The Alignment Style
doesn't control how the labels appear, the label does. In your case, you'll
want to develop different alignment styles (We use road, sewer, ditch, etc.)
then develop a myriad of different labels (Major-Client A; Major-Client B;
Minor-Client A, etc.) then build those styles into label sets. A label set
lets you pick out the styles for major components all at once, then save
them together. Then you simply import the label set to the alignment, and
it's all done.
Hope that makes sense, and see you in a month. I look forward to meeting
you.
