Feature lines color display when xreffed into another drawing

Why do our featrure lines all come in as the color white when xreffed into a drawing? Feature lines show up just fine in our topo drawing, so then we xref it into our design drawing and they all show as if the color is white when is is not in the layer properties.  All other items (symbols, points, and lines) come in as the color they were drawn in the topo drawing.  Did not have this problem before 2013.

Are you refering to feature lines or survey figures? From your image, I get the impression that you are refering to survey figures. I found shortly after starting a project in 2013 that we had to change the color setting in our survey figure style from Bylayer to Byblock. The drawing being xrefed into the other drawing was changing the survey figure color to the color of the layer the xref was inserted on. Once we changed the color setting to Byblock in the figure style, the survey figures kept their colors as they are set in the drawing they are in.

yes was refering to the survey figure lines.  Will try changing the style and see if it fixes the prob.   Thanks for the response.

    Tom,

I was just told we are having the same problem on our drawings.  When I tried your solution of changing the figure style to byblock instead of bylayer, all the figures in my original drawing are now white and when I xref them into another drawing, they are still white.  Regardless of the color assigned to the layer.  Am I missing a step here?
