Ditto. Not as much design center as tool palettes, but I can't
    envision CAD without them...

Design Center is great. I use it for dragging all new layers and all new text styles from my standards dwg. It is rare that I have to make up a new layer or a new text style. I also drag standard layouts from that drawing; it is complete with border and all my settings.

I'm disappointed that DC doesn't work for Civil-3D styles or mulltileader styles. I still use it, but not as much as I used to.

I have a question for you, where can I find out more on design center and tool palettes.  I've worked on Auto Cad Land Desktop for almost 10 years and now my company is moving toward AutoCAD Civil 3D.  I'm trying to get caught up on all new features that make our jobs easier.  Any links or ideas that you may have are greatly appreciated.

    Respectfully,

AutoCad Land Desktop and Civil 3D are two totally different programs. They can both do civil design but they do it differently. You will need to forget the way you do most things in LDT and learn to do them the civil 3D way.

Training is buy far the quickest way to learn what 3D can do and how to do it.
