This might not be the correct forum but I know someone out there can help us out with this. We have the very unfortunate need to use microstation for one of municipal clients and would like to find out how to enable the AEC objects in Microstation so when we attach a dwg I dont get squares everywhere.

Microstation SS2 does not support ACAD 2012 format files so I don't think you'll be able to exchange files in that format, nor will you be able to use the 2012 enabler.
Microstation SS3 should work for you.

Either you will have to get SS3 or you will have to convert the files. I don't think you have any other options.
