Search for "One or more" and you will find this has been an issue for a quite a while.

Some, including me, have had luck with Audit and then Save immediately afterwards.

Thank you good sir. Surprised I have not seen it yet. Is it more common with gradings?

I just ran into this one today Joe. My dwg has only a couple of surfaces, alignments and profiles, so it can't be related to gradings. I noticed when it happened that C3D was creating a new temp file in my project folder with each failed save. I got past it by save-as to a new file.

Joe. As mentioned, this has been a problem for a while. See this  thread and the link in there (by me).

I've had to do multiple Audits at time. I even have a macro that will do 10 in a row. If this continues, about the only thing you can do is to try and wblock out your drawing and insert it in to a fresh one from your template.

It's not just specific to grading. It seems at some point something breaks in a Civil 3D drawing and can't be fixed. Why don't you start a SR and remind Autodesk that it's still an issue.

Not sure if it's linked to gradings but I typically see this in files with too many FL's that have an overload of elev pnts and/or PI's and when I have too many files open in one session.  Perhaps is just PC mem overload...

I ran into this a couple of weeks ago after installing SP1 and it wouldn't let me audit or purge. Finally had to exit without saving. I sent a support request to Autodesk there response was as follows:

Thank you for contacting Autodesk Support. I went through your query and the update you have sent. The error message "One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format" has been associated with couple of reasons:
Either corruption in the drawing for which, you can run RECOVER, though AUDIT and PURGE are not working at your end.  If you find that you still cannot save the drawing, try selecting everything and then use WBLOCK to write a new drawing from the selected objects. You might also try copying the selected objects (Ctrl+C, the copyclip command, not AutoCAD copy) and pasting them into a new drawing created from scratch.

I have seen this a couple of times since but have been able to audit and save.

I have just been hit with this at the 11th hour. My C3D 2011 won't save any file, even the blank drawing at start up. My work files will save on other computers but not mine...so I think I did something to my installation... Auditing does not seem to help the situation.

It all started when I tried to open a "Previous Version" of a file from Explorer.

I unistalled AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009, and Civil 3d 2011 went back to working. Go figure.
