AutoCAD Civil 3D

Hi guys, i've been recently looking at this program: Autodesk Revit, i work with Autocad and Civil 3D, but dont know anything about Revit. My question is: what are the differences between Civil 3d and Revit and if u think that a civil engineer like me should work with Revit too.

Revit is Autodesk's Architectural equivalent to Civil 3D. In C3D we have custom civil objects such as surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, etc. that dynamically interact with each other and can be edited parametrically. Revit has custom architectural objects such as walls, doors and windows that behave in a similar manner. Insert a door or window into a wall and the wall automatically forms around it. Change the size parameters or move it and everything updates. Delete it and the wall opening "heals" itself.

Civil folks don't typically need such sophisticated architectural tools in their workflows. Usually the buildings are handled by a consultant or another department and the drawings are referenced into the civil drawings for the site design and construction documents.

Unless you are a bridge engineer I wouldn't really see the need for Revit in the Civil context. Revit does provide bridge extensions for Structural Engineers and the Bridge Modeler labs project allows the flow of bridge data between C3D and Revit.

For Landscape Architects: Revit or Civil3D??

The answers above pretty much tell you that Revit is not for a Landscape Architect. If you will be importin surveys and making TIN models then Civil 3D, otherwise just AutoCAD.
