    Alignment Chainage

I have a polyline and when I create an alignment from it the chainage doesn't start (0+00) where I want it to. How can I get it to do so? Reversing the direction of the alignment does not change this as the 'end point' is not where I want it either.

Are you sure the pline was clean? No null nodes, pseudo nodes, duplicate
    objects, zero length objects, etc?

If you are unsure about this use mapclean on the pline or xplode it & redraw
or rejoin the objects honoring object direction.

Select the alignment and right click. Pick Alignment Properties from the shortcut menu. On the Station control tab, in the Station box, enter the beginning station of the alignment. That is the station that is equal to the first point on the polyline. If that point isn't 0+00 calculate what station needs to be entered to put 0+00 where you want it.

amm I thought it worked but it didn't. The road in question loops back on itself, and so when I put the value needed to get a specified point at 0+00 in one direction I get 0+20, 0+40 etc and in the other direction (as the road closes in on itself) I get -0+20, -0+40 etc. How do I fix this?
