    3d Structure Label Layering

I have my pipe networks data referenced into my Utility drawing and I'm trying to add labels to my structures (catch basins, manholes...).  I made styles and selected C-TEXT as the layer for the label, but for some reason they're all on layer 0.  The 0 layer is frozen in my viewport but the C-TEXT layer is not, and the labels aren't showing up (but when I thaw 0 they show up)!  I can see them in model space and when I click on each label the properties shows it's on the C-TEXT layer...

    Any suggestions!?

    Thanks.

Have you specified the Pipe Network Object layers in drawing settings here?

Or alternatively populated them here when the Pipe Network was created?

Sounds like perhaps the Style has layer "C-Text" assigned to it but maybe the actual network parts & labeling are defaulting to zero. One other possibility is to be sure you have the various "view directions" all setup properly within these label styles.

Freezing layer zero can be a slippery slope to go down as AutoCad reserves/uses layer 0 for many things such as xref attachments & other items.

That's exactly what happened!!  The network parts were on the 0 layer so somehow the labels got connected and would only show if the pipes were visible.
