2013 Pressure pipe issues?

I've been trying to set up pressure pipe networks for water line production work on a network environment and... I'm wondering if others have had success with this or if people are waiting for the next release.
I can get into specifics if others are having success with it but if the consensus is it's half cooked, I won't waste my time.
My issues currently are about setting it up. I've found the catalog editor & documentation but network catalog paths seem to revert back to the hard drive & my custom parts don't seem to come in when I insert them with no error messages or any indication of what happened.
If anyone knows of a link on setting up and using pressure pipes, that would be helpful. Everything I've found is just focused on listing what it can do as a new feature. I'm looking for the "I set it up, and this is what doesn't work in this is how I addressed it" version.... if it exists yet.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Thought I would bump this Monday morning. no views.
I'm hoping to find some more indepth documentation on setting up & using pressure pipe networks. Even the AU documents from last year seem to be few and the one I did find, the power point didn't go into enough detail to get much from it.

Personally I have not seen any issues specific to pointing SETPRESSURENETWORKCATALOG to a network location, then reverting to the stock location. Does this happen everytime you point to a "non stock" location?
As for the "half baked" question, there are some features for pressure pipes that are not available compared to other Civil Objects, for example Data Shortcuts. Hopefully other users who actually have used pressure pipes in a production environment can comment on their experiences to give you a better idea.

Thanks for the response SEth.
the changing of the catalog path seems to be tied to the part list and what catalog it was created from. But I'm not sure of that.
I made copies of the three & have tried adding to and editing existing parts. what I have experienced is:
1. My default template had a default part list that referenced the catalogs on the C drive & when it would open the drawing1.dwg from that template, it would set the catalog path back to C.
2. I've edited existing part properties for the purpose of labeling. For example, I've been using the Fid Manufacturer field to enter things how I want to label. we would label a bend as 22.5 bend for example & list specs elsewhere. I can see that the parts have been populated with this but the label won't display, no ???, just nothing. I did the same thing with pipes, we label pipes DIP & I used the same field.
3. In an effort to get things going quick, I created simple valve parts, really nothing more than a dimensionally correct place holder, a cylindar representing the valve that is correct in diameter and length with the appropriate label info. When I insert it, I don't get an appurtance & no error or nothing to go on as far as what happened.
I know it's a new feature, I've delved into it some but... these things can really take time and if others have successfully been doing similar things, I want to continue. I'm looking for that AU class that we saw around 2009 where you finally had actuall production CAD managers that had worked through some of the issues and are using it in production. Might not exist yet.

There are lots of posts about pressure pipes here. They are indeed "half cooked" in my opinion.

1. the path should be "held" in the template
2. This seems to happen in the <[Description(CP)]> draws a blank but can be filled in manually, your custom entries are not being carried over? I tested this and it seemed to work
3. Did you create a custom part based on the instructions found in? C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013\Sample\Civil 3D API\Part Publishing Wizard
