2011 Can't move MTEXT... Cursor gets locked in "mystery viewport"

I really hope someone else has experienced this, and knows a way to fix it...

Whenever I try to move MTEXT in paperspace (C3D 2011), a tiny little box (viewport?) appears in the upper-left of the screen, and the cursor gets locked into it.  It makes it impossible to do anything until I shut down and restart C3D.  But then the next time I try to move MTEXT, the same thing happens again.

    It's brought my work to a complete standstill.  I can't do ANYTHING.  It's ultra-extremely-frustrating.

    Here's a screenshot:

Update:  This problem only seemed to happen with one particular block of MTEXT.  I deleted and recreated it, and I can move the new MTEXT block normally.

I have no explanation.  (And yes, I tried running AUDIT and all that stuff.)  It just seems to be YA2011P (yet another 2011 problem).  We probably really need to move up to 2012...  2011 seems to be as really bad release, as far as quality and usability.
