In the properties window of this surface, tab "Statistics" -> "Volume", the program should show the total area of ​​cut and  the

total area of fill.

If you need the areas, in lieu of waiting for the next version of civil 3d, do an elevation analysis on the volume surface with 2 elevation ranges, below and above zero.  Then add a surface table (elevation) and you'll have your areas.
