It would nice to be able to sample volume surfaces in a sample line group. Also, add them to the material list to get areas from the volume surface at the specified sample line location in a material report.
As a work around you can create a new TIN Surface and then paste the volume surface into it using Edit of the tree definition. Not sure if you have tried that.
