Change Plot Style for a Label Component

It would be nice to be able to change the plot style for a label component.
You can change the color but not the plot style. We use stb's for plotting
and I want to add a note to a label that will show on screen but not plot.
Another option would be if we could control what layer a component goes on.

    6thly!!!

I'm actually tired of requesting this one.

Adesk team: We are NOT all using the OOTB templates/NCS standards, etc.
Some of us have found STBs to be very helpful and the improper handling of
named styles (and in some cases, the lack of any handling) is less than
helpful. It puts a big, ugly black on eye on everything.

    Tom -

There was a mixed result when I talked about it at Civil3d.com. There are still a good many who haven't switched from color based styles.

(We blew our first attempt at a named plot style setting - but we recovered very quickly with something that makes a ton of sense now...)

I think the majority haven't switched. I'm ok with that. I'm irritated
that (apparently) noone involved in the development seems to even be aware
of it. Honestly, I'd be ok with them not even adding named style handling,
at this point. I'd settle for ByLayer/ByBlock working properly within the
    components of labels.

I know this is an old post, I know that, but the request is still valid. I would like for this feature to be added, as well as in with Multileader styles and Dim styles.

Style based works so much better for 3D objects like 3D Polylines and Feature lines. Style based is the only way I can actually show dashed versions of these types of objects.

The only reason I believe people are reluctant to switch to style based, other than being used to color based, are problems like these.

The main problem I have is that the _Dot block used in a dot leader head always plots as color and I have to switch it to a certain style, which you'd think setting it to byblock would work, but it doesn't. Also, dragged label states plot the leaders too thick, and sometimes regular dimension lines and leader lines do the same thing.

Please update, please, I'm begging you.

Should definately be able to put components of a label on a different layer than the main label, if we want to.  I think that would basically solve this issue for stb and ctb users.
