I've put pipe labels on my plan that shows the 2d length of pipe to inside edges. When the drawing is opened on another computer, the lengths are different than what they are on my computer. The differences don't seem to have any rhyme or reason - at first we thought they were center to center distances, but some are only off by a foot.
I worked a similar Service Request the other day, (it may actually have been for you) in which the different machines were running different updated versions of Civil 3D 2009. Once they were all upgraded to the same Update, then they worked as expected. Hopefully this can help you as well.
