Best way to model a control weir in SWMM

Hi all,

I am trying to model the following within SWMM.

We have an existin 8" sanitary sewer and would like to add a control weir (vertical sliding gate) to the upstream face of a manhole.  The idea is to open the sliding gate to a controled depth basically to regulate downstream flow?

The only way I can see to closely model this is to make the downstream pipe the "equivelant area" to the required flow area?

Thoughts?

Bill

In Autodesk Storm and Sanitary, you can add either a Weir or Orifice to represent your Gate.

I might assume that an orifice is more appropriate is the gate is sliding up to control the flow.

<Your question was about SWMM, and Autodesk Storm and Sanitary is build with SWMM...>
