X-ref'd centerline alignments: Why do certain components change color based on the layer I am currently in or load the drawing in?
The title pretty much says it all. I have an x-ref'd centerline alignment that is mint and everything is perfect with it. however, I have noticed that when i load a drawing or save it using other layers (typical because I am constantly using different layers) the major station circle component, and dot component come in as the layer I just was on.
For example, the Major Stations (MS) is on Layer A, along with the rest of the alignment. The xref itself is on layer B and is locked so I don't mess it up. When I am done working on the drawing I am on layer C and I save that file and exit. The next time I load that drawing the alignment MS appear to be on layer C. When i investigate everything is how it hould be.
I am wondering if anyone has encountered this bizzar glitch with xref'd CL alignments and if there are any work arounds or fixes.
Thanks guys I appreciate any advice or tips.

Just to be clear...Are you X-refing or Data Referencing (D-Ref) the Aligmnent? If you are X-refing, Nothing should change in the graphics. If you are D-Refing this appears to be a Style issue.
This is an issue that has been around for quite a while.
These are just some of the threads regarding this.
