viewport control in CIV3D

Ok, this may seem a bit simple to some but . .. I am constantly developing styles to pass along to my standards. I just created a demo sheet for the first time since the beginning of Civ3D use. On my demo sheet i want the lot lines which is a different style than my property line to be off in my demo sheet. I want my Property Boundary to stay on. I cant seem to make this work without the Property Boundary or Right of way boundary turning off. Any input is very welcome. Thanks in advance.

this is a good article if i was starting from scratch thank you i appreciate that. the problem is i already have a project that is 70% in civ3d. i tried briefly to "retro fit" what was outlined in the article, it did not work.

Scott, I took my progress back to where it would of been to do your excersize. I dont have a rectangle, I dont really know if that is why it is or is not working. I used your layering scheme and the whole nine. When i get done I cant just turn off the DC-BNDRY-CBLOCK-SEGMENT layer to get the end result. I did follow your instructions with the 250x300 rectangle and it worked fine. I can not seem to get it done with a real shape. any suggestions?

Are you using the BPOLY command to create a polyline inside the area you're
trying to subdivide? Are you turning off the layer as opposed to freezing
it? The subdivision in the attached was subdivided this way...

nice looking layout, i dont doubt the your solution at all. i can see it works. yes, i am using bpoly to define the area for subdividing. there is one spot that bpoly would not work so i overlined it with a poly line, which is the same as poly line. it worked on your example, i followed it to a tee. let me try once more. i will attach it if it has problems this time and maybe you can explain what i am doing incorrect. thank you in advance for your expertise.

Sounds good.

Sure, if you can't get it, post it - I'll look at it when I get a chance.
