vba pipe export to excel

I am trying to export my pipes to excel using the vbarun command and then activating the "PipeSamples.ExportToExcel" vba script included with Civil 3D (the same script used on a webcast I viewed recently). It seems this vba script assumes you are using excel 2003 (i am using excel xp). Please see the attached image of my error. Does anyone know how to "modify the reference to Excel" as the comment line of the script suggests I do?

Thanks!

Inside of the VBA Editor, Tools->References. This will bring up the
"References" dialog box. You should see a check box for Excel that says
something like "missing". Clear that check box, and then scroll down looking
for the reference to "Microsoft Excel", and select that. Save the project
and try it again. I can't remember the exact line, but I think it will be
10.0 Object Library.

Excellent! Thanks Peter! Now I will have to figure out the formating of this export file 🙂

Now that I have my pipe network exported to excel. I have no problem deciphering most of the columns. However... how do I know which row of exported data corresponds to structures / pipes? The first column says "handle" (i.e... values of 19580, 19584). I cannot seem to find a place in the C3D drawing where a structure / pipe's "handle" is listed.

THANKS!

The "Handle" is the internal flag that AutoCAD adds to each object as a
unique name. This is exported to Excel so that the import routine can figure
out what pipe/structure to modify on import. Think of this as the AutoCAD
database record number.
