update fields (date) in all layouts

Hi,

in order to avoid  opening each layout and update the fields or the same text written in Title Block

- is there a way to update automatically the fields (date for example)  in all the layouts with a single command.

- is there a way to update the same text in all the layouts (for example changing the adress or the name of the project written in the title block - like in word with search and replace function )

Thanks,

MHB

I believe this already happens, I use multi-sheet title blocks on a daily basis with no issues. You might however need to do a regen or regenall

Sheet Sets are probably your best bet for this sort of thing

I agree with Neilyj but I would warn that IME the SSM can really slow down your productivity depending on the server. I believe using a title block reference would be a better solution personally.

Do you want the date to reflect the current date, always - or only when you choose to update it?

setting SSMSEETSTAUS = 1 or 2 (if orget off hand) will eliminate most slow response. by default SSM pings out to the server every 60 seconds to se if anything nedds updates. 1 or 2 only updates on open and plot( where you need it most)
Thank you

That's not what the help says.

0

Do not automatically refresh the status data in a sheet set

1

Refresh the status data when the sheet set is loaded or updated

2

Refresh the status data when the sheet set is loaded or updated, or at a time interval set by SSMPOLLTIME

(In other words if set to 2 it will ping every 60 seconds.)

yes because default SSMPOLLTIME = 60, that can be maxed to 600 ( every 10 minutes. Thats what is was 2 and 600.
Thank you

Thanks to all for your valuable support.
I am going through the process of understanding more on how SSM is working and how to insert properly fields in title blocks. In this regard I have found the Sheets Happen document on internet which seems to be a reference. But the version I got of this document is related ACAD 2006. Is there an update available for ACAD 2012 ?
Best,
MH

Not aware of any updates for this document but then again I don't believe that Sheets Sets have changed any recently so the document is still valid

Not that I am aware of. Nor can I pin point any earth shaking advance in SSM since the paper.
