surface size problems

thank you all for your previous help

new question is what can be done to reduce the file size for a contour surface?

if the contours lines are created in database and imported will it reduce the amount of data regenerated with each command?

What does the above mean, what's the process / workflow here?

If you've brought in contours from some other source and there are way too many vertices along these contours they

can easily be cleaned up or weeded using the MAPCLEAN command.

thanks a bunch

I am maxing my machine out with simple move command and was trying to speed things up.

the surface was created in civil 3d (same machine and software) it is 250 mb when created. I believe I can change style to no view but I do need it to be visible eventually.

Thank you

You can try simplifying the surface.

  • Click Modify tab Ground Data panel Surface.
  • Click Surface tab Modify panel Edit Surface drop-down Simplify Surface.
