special lines

Is there a special line command like in LD 2004 under "Lines and Curves" to draw lines with text inserted in the line?

Have you tried the "new" linetypes with text that you can do with AutoCAD?
They work pretty well, and then don't litter your drawing with lots of
little lines and text.

Where do I access this? Is it a command or a linetype setting?

You can either change the linetype of a layer, or the line type of a
line/arc/polyline. In the standard AutoCAD linetype file you'll find a
couple of fence lines and a gas line. If you need to add some more, it is
pretty simple. The scale of the text/symbol is set with the ltscale.

The following takes you to a page of how-to articles. Look for "Applying Custumization: Making complex Linetypes" Part 1 and Part 2.
