radial points in excel, help please.

I have an excel spreadsheet with angle from north and distance in feet; each in a column. The data is from a total station and will be used for a very basic survey. Is there an easy/ direct way to load these points in autodesk? All points were taken from a single survey location.

Sounds simple enough if you know how to program excel to calculate the
coordinates from the geometry given. Save as an ASCII (txt) file. (1,
251.36, 589.39, Elevation). Pt #, Northing, Easting, Elevation or Pt# , X,
Y (X, Y = Easting, Northing, however)
It depends on how many points. It you just had a few rotate a line your
angle (Degrees) and extend the distance and you have your point location.

Thanks for the fast reply. I now have the txt file with #, X, Y. How do I actually load this file in autocad to create a .dwg which displays each point?

When you get ready to import your points from the text file, open it in
Notepad and verify that it does not have any unusual characters and your
first point is at the top of the file.
