"Problem in loading application" error

When I try to edit a vertical alignment in a profile I get this error. Any help would be appreciated.

I got the same message when trying to delete a surface from a corridor. I had to Ctrl/Alt/Del to shut down Civil 3D - sorry no error number...

try to insert the disc 1 of the civil3d installer, go to control
panel>add/remove programs, select Autodesk Civil 3d from the programs and
pick change. Select repair.Restart the pc and try to perform the commands
again. By the way, what is your version of civil 3d?

I saw a similar message, but was unable to decipher the solution. I have C3D 2006, but the alignment was created in C3D 2005...
