quick sections across a pond

hey everyone....

I have created 2 surfaces.  One is exising ground, and the other is a final surface.  I would like to do a couple of cross sections across my area, and show the 2 different surfaces in the sections.  Where do I start?  THis is not a road project, but do I need an alignment or is there a quick section I can do? Thanks for any help.  I know these are simple questions, but I am just learning this stuff.

I would create an alignment exactly where you want your section, then create a surface profile for the alignment and include both surfaces. Works like a charm, takes maybe 60 seconds to do.

If you just want to have a quick look and don't want to save the profile, you can go to the analyze tab, ground data and pick quick profile.

Just draw a polyline, select it and right click, select Quick Profile. Select your two surface to show on the profile and select somewhere to place your profile. Now you can grip edit the polyline and your profile will update. This method is temporary, but it gives you an idea what it looks like, so if you delete the line the profile will be removed.

....... and you can explode the Quick profile so it will remain in the drawing (no longer dynamic though)

I have drawn a pline, selected it, and rt clicked it.  I don't see an option for quick section.
