projecting profiles

Hi, all,

I've got two parallel taxiways, only in the middle of one (Taxiway A),
it jogs to the left. Let me fire up my awesome ASCII art skills to
illustrate:

A B

I have a profile of A that I want to project onto B. In other words, I
want the elevations to go straight across. Using superimposed profiles,
the stationing stays the same, and I need the diagonal portion of A to
be "squeezed" down to fit the whole thing into B.

Any idea how to do that?

Jason:

I may be reading you incorrectly but your point about the stationing staying
the same may be incorrect.
If you can draw your Line B straight (you could simulate it.) then the
offsets in A will be normal to Line B in the profile.

Jason,

Are you using the "Create Superimpose Profile..." command to make the
superimposed profile? If so, you may need to post a screen shot of what you
are seeing that you don't think is correct.

Hi Jason,

If you look closely at the superimposed profiles, I expect you will find
that is exactly what happens.

Well, I'll be a humdinger. You're right, it does just that. Thanks, all.
