point adjustment best practice

I was wondering what is considered best practice for exporting adjusted points back to a data collector,

overwriting the existing point data in the original job or creating a new job called "job name - adjusted" ?

We usually keep all versions of a job and append it with the date. Not necessarily keeping all in the data collector. But everything is backed up on the network.

I'm not saying this is best practice. Just the way we do it. One thing to consider is will more than one version on the data collector confuse things?

Thanks, I would definitly agree with archiving the older versions and keep only one on the data collector.
