I did the first tutorial on how to creat a part in partbuilder. I had several versions of it. Now I want to delete it but partbuilder won't delete it when I pick it and hit the delete button. What should I do?

Run partcatalogregen and then see if it still is there. If so close C3D. In windoz exploder browse to your catalog. As you see in the attachment each part has three files associated with it. Move the files to another location, rename or delete them. Open C3D, run partcalaogregen and see if that does the trick.
