nvidia powerdraft - vertical adsk product

hi everybody,

nvidia has released a version of powerdraft (special hdi driver for nvidia quadro graphics cards and acad) to use with autocad 2007.

but you can only install powerdraft to vanilla autocad. the setup does not detect civil3d 2007 as autocad 2007 and does not complete the installation. probably there is the same issue with an other vertical product for instance architectural or mechanical desktop.

how can I install / use powerdraft with civil3d 2007. any help is appreciated.

POWERdraft is an NVIDIA product and it would be best to contact NVIDIA
about it. However, I am trying to get some details/resolution on the
issue and will post when I find out more.

Himanshu,

Have you recieved any new information regarding this issue.

We are experiencing the same problem when trying to install for Civil 3D 20007 and Land Desktop 2007.

Any new information on this would be appreciated.

Seems to me that if you search you will find that you can copy the driver to the acad product drv folder and select it that way.
It was reported that the hype greatly exceeded any performance gain.
Might have been in the hardware group.

Looks like don't bother.

Just found something on the nvidia web site stating they do not support any of the autodesk vertical products.

Anything to make this beast (C3D) faster is worth investigating, just wanted to keep everyone informed.

Looks like you have found more information than I have (re post by JP
and you). There has been no official word from the vendor, except what
you found on their customer help web site.

My belief is that there would be an advantage in using the drivers, but
it would probably be limited to certain drawing operations. Expecting
those drivers to suddenly speed up C3D tasks like corridor or contour
rebuilding would be unreasonable.
