newbie in corridor modeling, trying to build a corridor for a channel

i would like to apologize before hand for any dumb questions i ask; i am trying to get a handle on using the corridor modeling for channels. i have a half channel section that looks like this (right side of the centerline):
from CL, 5' flat (towards the right)
then 3:1 for a depth of 2'
then a 20' "bench" rising at 10:1
then, beyond the "bench", it should daylight to existing surface at 3:1
i started with the OOTB channel subassembly, but realized that i cannot target a surface with this. i also had trouble putting in my "bench" area in the channel subassembly. i can create a subassembly from polyline, then add a LINK SLOPE TO SURFACE subassembly at the end, but then i cannot mirror the combo for the left side; finally, when i build the corridor with the entire x-section, alignment, profile etc, Civil 3D says its built, but i do not see a thing in the VIEW CORRIDOR SECTION, or even in plan view. i also do not get a target option, and the corridor property target says "no target found in scripts". if anyone has any insight or step by step on how to build a corridor for a custom channel cross section and is willing to share, i would really appreciate. thanks.

Use the Generic MultiLink, specify 3 links, enter your parameters for
offsets and delta z's.... dW1=5, dW2=6, dW3=20, dZ1=0, dZ2=2, dZ3=2. Then
add a generic link slope to surface with a 3:1 slope. Mirror these to the
other side. Make sure you have a surface to target the outer links to.

If you get stuck let me know, I have a sample 2010 dwg ready to post if you
need it.

i will follow your step by step tomorrow (too tired battling this corridor thing for almost 3 hrs). while waiting for a reply here, i could finally build a corridor using the CHANNEL subassembly. at first, the corridor and the corridor surface was 3' deeper than it should be. i could not locate the MOVE SUBASSEMBLY ORIGIN command, so ended up grabbing the subassembly, moving from the mid point of the flat channel bottom to the center of the assembly marker (you guys must be laughing at this, i am sure). the good thing is i feel like i am getting there, slowly. i want to build this myself from scratch, but if i cannot, i may have to reach out to you again for your sample. i appreciate you helping out. thanks much.

Jeff,
thanks for your help from earlier. i followed what you had initially suggested (see attached PNG). thanks again in steering me in the right direction! i have gotten a lot of good guidance from the DB so far, that i really appreciate.
