A Civil 3d user in our office is having an interesting issue with the inquiry tool window. The window was docked, an alignment inquiry was in progress, and when the user tried to minimize the window the close button was accidentally pressed. We have tried the "showinquiry" command, "_aeccshowinquiry" command, and the ribbon button doesn't bring up the window. Everything found in the CUI regarding the inquiry tool looks the same as on everyone else's workspace/computer. We have even tried changing the screen resolution to see if the window is popping up elsewhere, no luck. We arent getting any errors, the window is just not showing up. I have searched all forums I can think of but I cannot find any information on how to find this missing window. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you resolve it?

If you think it's off-screen, you could try the keyboard trick: Alt + Space, M, arrow key. Then if you move the mouse the window will be stuck to the mouse.

Thanks to anyone attempting to find a solution to this issue. The command "floatinquiry" brought the window back.
if floatinquiry doesn't work, try dockinquiry; that brought it back for me
To whom it may concern:
I had the same issues. Many functionality of AUTOCAD Civil 3D are down. The tech support from AUTOCAD asking to install updates, which is not helpful. I reinstalled to the default setting AUTOCAD a few times without luck.
AUTODESK shall step in and resolve those issues ASAP. 🙂
