making simple contours from existing polylines

I just created a surface called "existing" using existing polylines.  I have a boundary showing up around what would be the limits of that surface.  I am trying to "show" the contours because right now all I can see is the new boundary, and the polylines from which I made the surface.  I want to view my new contours as a check, but when I go to change the style, all I see is "standard" and my new contours still don't show up.  ANy body know what I might be missing to make my new contours show? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

You will need to edit the Standard Surface Style to "turn on" the major and minor contours for them to show up:
