layer isolation of xref layer

Could some please tell me how you layer isolate a layer in an xref?

Thanks

Sounds like a nice wish list feature....

Would be even more cool if it also worked on entities within C3D objects.

The only way I know > open up layer mangager, right-click then choose select all, turn off all layers then turn the xref layer back on.

Have you checked the customization group ? You might find some code that does what you need or if you are a bit nicer than I am you might just ask for it 😉

If you set your Layer Isolate back to locking layers rather than turn them off it works with Civil 3D objects; last I checked. Than what you can do is turn your lockfade %'age way up and the layers essentially turn off (slightly visible).

It is not the exact same but close'ish. If they only had a setting where object snaps would NOT see locked layers and other commands wouldn't interact with locked layers (ie: BPOLY command) it would be a perfect solution!

I'm here looking for the old Land Desktop LAI command that worked great. It could pick nested entities.

Email me and I'll shoot you back a LISP that does the same thing.

hey!
I would appreciate that lisp very much. I've been so frustrated at times. But what I'm consistently trying to do is isolate layers that are active and within an xref at the same time. Will it do that? If it won't work with both at the same time then it's useless to me. heh

thanks
