issue with cross sections in 2015

my cross sections that i created in c3d2012 are now all messed up in c3d2015. is there some sort of compatabilty issue that i can quickly overcome or do i have to redo them all?

You will need to be a tad more specific as to what "all messed up" means. I just opened my cross sections, from a project still actively being worked on in C3D2012, in C3D2015 and they look exactly the same as they do in 2012.

i spent a few hours friday trying to figure out what was wrong to no avail. most of the sections are missing part or all of the assembly, like maybe a target isn't set right. there are lots of negetive elevations showing up in the cross sections. i tried recreating just one section with the same bad result. i've created corridors recently in 2015 and they worked fine. i figure i'll just have to recreate the sections but it was very complex with a bunch of alignments and profles and assemblies. it makes my stomach hurt.

I don'r know about 2015 yet, but my experience with cross sections is it is all about targets. Is it possible between 2014 & 2015 someone else got into your file and mucked up your targets?

I might try going to a shadow copy before the 2015 rollout to check that theory out.
