export xml profiles

I'm exporting profiles to xlm from c3d and importing them back into land creating the data base for our field guys who are not up to speed with 3d yet. I want to export ditch transition, say L2 and R2 to give them more information.

As I understand it, if I define the finished grade profile as L2 I should be able to import it into land as L2 ditch transition. It doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone used this successfully.

The other thing is that I have a bunch of different alignment in the same drawing. I can only have one L2 profile per drawing. So, does that mean I have to break up each profile and export separately?

Any tips would be welcome.

landxml is absolutely un-intuitive with profiles. so i don't bother. but i
am lazy sometimes.

to go LDT->C3D i just block it in and trace

to go C3D->LDT i explode, block it in, sample an LDT profile and define my
C3D as a profile

if doing it for the field guys, why not set the points in c3d from the
align/profile and export an ASCII of points?
