In C3d 2018. I'm getting this same prompt. I'm typing in "FILEDIA" and it says "cannot find specified drawing.." What should I do?
Please read this post (post 14 of ##)
Now I can tell there are more people saying the same as I do. I heard there are other softwares with more commom sense in their programing than this one. For Autodesk: K. I. S. S. (Keep It Simple Stupid).
Typing in this option also works for the original AutoCAD program, not just AutoCAD Civil

FILEDIA=1

Yes it does as Civil is built on AutoCAD.....in fact pretty much all the original AutoCAD commands work in Civil...!!!!!

after i get : No system variable changed **** . what can i do abour it ?
It has been a while since I had this problem and posted this question so I do not recall for sure.
for your question have you typed in sysvarmonitor (for system variable monitor) on the command line?
when I do this I get the System Variable Monitor box where I can change the variables or reset them all.
I believe I have reset them all before when I was having that problem and it resolved the issue.
If the problem you are having is that you can not open a drawing using the 'open drawing' icon and it is wanting you to type the name of the drawing to open in the command line I think I fixed this issue before by opening the system variable monitor box and changing the FILEDIA variable to 1. I think you can do this directly on the command line also by typing filedia and entering 1.
hope this is helpful.
NONE OF THOSE SOLUTIONS ARE WORKING FOR ME. WHEN I TYPE ON THE COMMAND LINE IT GOES UP ONTO THE BAR THAT SHOWS UP ASKING FOR THE FILE NAME, I SEEM TO BE STUCK
