edit alignment stationing

I want to extend my alignment stationing to begin 5 before the project starts

the stationing should start with -5 and the work begins at 0+00

how do I edit my existing alignment to do this

thanks and I am new at this

Extend your alignment  to the point where you want it to start from. (draw a circle 5 radius then select alignment and drag to apparent intersection between alignment and circle is one way)

Select the alignment, right click and choose "Alignment Properties..."

On the "Station Control" tab, in "Reference Point" frame, set the "Station" value to -5.

A warning will come up. Read it. Click ok to make the change, cancel otherwise.

Alignment will now start at station -5.

Alignment properties, Station Control tab is where you edit stationing.  Perform the edits to your alignment, click the reference point for 0+00, and make this 0+00, the stationing will take care of itself.

Beware....your proposed profile may shift around as you make edits to the alignment.  If you mark the original 0+00 after the edits, then it should be fine.
