detention basins - non symmetrical

All,

Is there a way in C3D that I can have a detention pond that has an outlet
control structure at one end and have it contour properly? What I am after
is where the OCS is, there should be an almost vertical grade, the depth
should match whatever the deepest part of the pond is and the contours fan
out from that at x% slope. I will admit that I'm a novice when it comes to
grading objects so I probably have overlooked something.

All the books and references that I found show a symmetrical pond (all sides
are uniform with the center deepest part of the pond in the center).

I can provide a picture of what we currently do in LDT if needed to clarify.

Please provide that picture...

I've been experimenting with using corridors for grading ponds...Just FYI.

Is it showing any signs of being worth the effort?

....inquiring minds and all. 😉

Yes, if only because I can vary the slopes quite easily, as well as doing
things like ledges with ease. Export the surface, and paste it into FG, and
away you go. I basically draw an alignment along the top of the berm, then
setup various conditions as needed.

Here you go. This example also has a low flow channel in the basin as well
as a requirement for a 2% slope on the bottom. But this is more or less
typical of what we do.
