civil3d+SSA

Hi

I have a question about stormsewer(pipe network) design.

please correct me for design procedure at civil3d+SSA:

     - drafting network at civil3d and getting rim elev from a surface

     - export to SSA

-at SSA assign flows to pipes an then design pipes

     -import to civil3d

so if it is true, my question is what is the puspose of "rule" command in this situation.

2-Rule command when can help me,because I think this command don't care to flow at all

Thanks

Hamid

Hi Hamid,

You are correct with the workflow and I understand that you are referring to the Rules tab within the Pipe Properties. Yes, these rules for the pipe properties are for drafting purpose or defining the pipe networks however these rules such as slope and length will affect the analysis of the hydraulics.

Thanks,
