civil 3d labels background mask

I have a user that when a C3D label is inserted into his dwg it has a background mask of a transparent red color in the layout tab (paper space and looking thru to model space). If you swith to model tab it does now show the mask. His is the only machine doind this. It does plot properly. The issue is that when opend in design review it is blacked out. Any ideas anyone?

What Object are you labeling? Alignment, Profile, Pipe, Structure? I'm trying to recreate to issue. Some styles may have different options based on the object you're labeling.

We are placing labels on structures labels contain offsets to an alignment.

Is the Mask appearing over the entire label or just a portion? Can you send me a screen shot?

The label under the DISTESS image is not a c3d label but the others are.

the lable to the far left is in paper space and is not a 3d label. The labels to the right are 3d labels, this is how they show up in paper space only. when switching to model space the red background fill is not visible.

I had a similar issue with a survey line label.  On the label style, it asks for the background color.   You have to set it.

The label style background color is set the same as everyone else's, by layer for text and border in layout and in dragged state leader and dragged state component are all set to by layer. I have logged into his machine with my log in and it still has the same issues. Same drawing with the same labels on my machine works right.

I noticed that these labels are in leadered. Have we looked at the Background Mask setting in the Dragged State tab of the Label Style Composer? I literally just made this mistake 20 minutes ago when I updated a Label Style but it didn't show because the label was in Dragged State.

Yes dragged state color is set to by layer like everyone else's

After a little research I uncovered this gem. Is your users Page Setup Manager Set to Display plot styles?

This will remove the red mask however it does remove the background mask all together which is not acceptable.

It removes the mask from this Layout display. Does it remove the Mask from Modelspace? Does it display properly on other machines? Does it print correctly?

If it's just a bug on this particular machine, there may be a Graphics Card or Driver issue.

It does remove the mask both layout and model space. It does display properly on other machines and it does print properly. Biggest issue is when we place it in design review it just blacks everything within the wipeout out, turns it to black.

At last it has been resolved. Not sure the problem but C3D was uninstalled and then reinstalled and the problem is resolved. Thanks to all of the input I recieved from everyone.

turn off your hardware acceleration.. it should help you to see better in design review.
