change comparison surface

Im looking at surface properties and trying to reset my comparison surface but see no option and crash if I try to paste a new comparison surface into it. Is this possible?

Thank you

The only way I know is to use some trickery. Instead of using the surface(s) direct, create empty surface(s) to use as comparison surface(s) then paste the actual surface(s) to use for the volumes into those surface(s). You can then swap out the pasted surface(s) as you please.

I used the format surface(s) because you may want to do this for both surfaces. Although I usually only do it with my FG surface since the EG normally does not change.

I'm pretty sure this has been posted before but a search did not find it.

Thanks Jeff!

That is some trickery, and makes sense too
