can't delete grading

I can't delete, explode or edit my grading. Everytime I try, I get a fata error. I have a grading object that I need to raise 3' but I can't raise it without getting a fatal error. I can't delete it and start over either. Anybody got any suggestions?

A few things I've learned:

Make sure Audit runs clean.
Make sure you use the Grading Delete tool, not the Autocad Erase tool or the
Delete button.
If you have gradings that are daisy chained (one built on another) delete
the downstream gradings first.
Turn off automatic surface creation.
Sometimes you just have to restore a backup and start from there.

If Neil's advice did not work I would try to copy the base feature line to a
new site, delete the offending site & start over.

One more thing that may be a problem..if you raise it 3 feet you may be
causing the grading to overlap itself which can cause crashing. Try raising
it in smaller increments and watch for the grading to overlap. If it does,
adjust the slope criteria to prevent that from happening.
